Victor Boniface’s stellar performance propelled Bayer Leverkusen to a resounding 5-0 victory over Werder Bremen, securing their first-ever Bundesliga title. Boniface, who scored a goal and provided an assist, showcased his talent alongside teammate Nathan Tella, who came on as a substitute in the 62nd minute.

With 11 goals and eight assists in 18 league appearances, Boniface has been instrumental in Leverkusen’s success this season. His achievement adds him to the esteemed list of Nigerians who have won the Bundesliga title, including Sunday Oliseh and Karibe Ojigwe.

In the decisive fixture, Boniface opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the 25th minute before setting up Granit Xhaka for Leverkusen’s second goal in the 60th minute. Florian Wirtz completed the rout with a hat-trick, sealing victory with goals in the 68th, 83rd, and 90th minutes.

Despite their league triumph, Xabi Alonso’s side remains focused on securing additional silverware. They are set to compete in the German Cup final against Kaiserslautern in May and are on the brink of advancing to the Europa League semi-finals after a convincing 2-0 win over West Ham in the quarter-finals.
