In Sydney’s suburb of Wakeley, a bishop and several individuals were stabbed during a sermon being livestreamed online. Police responded to reports of multiple stabbings, but stated that none of the injuries were life-threatening. A man has been arrested in connection with the attack, and investigations are ongoing to determine the motive.

The attack occurred at Christ The Good Shepherd Church, where Bishop Mar Mari Emmanuel was reportedly stabbed while giving the sermon. The livestreamed video captured the assailant, dressed in dark clothing, approaching the bishop and striking him, prompting screams of horror from witnesses. Several others attempted to intervene during the attack.

The victims, all males aged between 20 and 70, suffered non-life-threatening injuries and are receiving treatment from NSW Ambulance paramedics. Authorities have urged the community to avoid the area as investigations continue.

This incident comes shortly after a tragic event where six people were killed at a shopping mall in Sydney, although there is no indication of a connection between the two events.
