The Bayelsa Independent Electoral Commission (BYSIEC) distributed Certificates of Return to the winners of the state’s April 6 local government council elections on Monday.
Chairman Peter Singabele officiated the certificate presentation ceremony held at the Ernest Ikoli Press Centre, Nigeria Union of Journalists secretariat, Yenagoa.
Singabele extended congratulations to the victors and encouraged them to prioritize delivering democracy’s benefits to grassroots constituents.
In response, Yenagoa local government council Chairman Bulodisiye Ndiwari expressed gratitude to Governor Douye Diri and other stakeholders for their support. He assured them of their commitment to enhancing the welfare of their constituents.
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) secured victory in all eight chairmanships and 105 councillorships during the polls.
