The village head of Idu, Chief Mohammed Bawa Makama, and his counterpart from Karmo, Chief Umar Garni Sarkin Karmo, both located in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), have urged the Nyesom Wike-led Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) to take swift action against land grabbers encroaching upon their communities.

In their Eid Fitri message to the Minister, the chiefs commended the minister for his efforts thus far and emphasized the critical need for enhanced security in FCT communities. Makama voiced grave concerns over the activities of land grabbers, who have been obstructing access to farmland and impeding the construction of residential homes for their growing children.

Makama cited a specific instance in the Idu Industrial Area where an individual claiming ties to the presidency attempted to unlawfully seize a large tract of land. Fortunately, their efforts were thwarted, with no official allocation found at the Abuja Geographic Information Systems (AGIS). Expressing gratitude for a peaceful Eid El Fitri celebration, Makama urged his subjects to remain law-abiding and expressed confidence that the minister would address their grievances while advocating for continued peaceful coexistence in their domain.

Likewise, Chief Umar Garni Sarkin Karmo lamented the forcible seizure of both agricultural and residential lands by land grabbers in Karmo Sabo. He offered prayers for the good health of those in authority, asserting that with divine health and guidance, wise leadership would prevail.
