Controversial cross-dresser and social media celebrity, Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, has been sentenced to six months imprisonment by the Federal High Court in Lagos. The sentence, handed down by Justice Abimbola Awogboro, comes without the option of a fine.
Bobrisky has been in the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) since his arrest last week. He was apprehended by the EFCC for allegedly abusing the local currency, the Naira.
Having pleaded guilty to a four-count charge of Naira abuse on April 5, Bobrisky’s sentencing marks the culmination of legal proceedings against him.
