Tragedy struck on the Abuja-Lokoja highway as two separate road accidents occurred, resulting in one fatality and nine injuries. According to a source, the first accident transpired around 4am on Wednesday, involving a collision between a commercial Toyota Hiace with registration number AKD 800 YG and a DAF trailer with registration number KMC 79 YR in Kwaita village. The collision left seven passengers injured, who were swiftly transported to Abaji General Hospital, FCT, by Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) officials.
The second accident occurred on Thursday in Sheda village, involving a Toyota Hiace without a registration number. This incident claimed the life of a female passenger and left two others injured.
An official from the Yangoji Unit of the FRSC, who was part of the rescue team, confirmed the accidents but chose to remain anonymous.
