NiMet Forecast: Sunshine and Thunderstorms Expected Across Nigeria from Thursday to Saturday

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has issued a weather outlook predicting a combination of sunshine and thunderstorms across the country from Thursday to Saturday.

 

On Thursday, NiMet anticipates sunny skies with occasional patches of clouds in the northern region, with potential thunderstorms over parts of Taraba in the afternoon and evening. The North Central region is forecasted to experience cloudy skies with intervals of sunshine, along with prospects of thunderstorms in areas including Kwara, Kogi, Benue, and the Federal Capital Territory.

 

In the southern region, predominantly cloudy conditions are expected, with morning thunderstorms possible in parts of Cross River and Akwa Ibom states.

 

Moving to Friday, NiMet forecasts sunny skies with isolated patches of clouds in the northern region during the morning hours. In the North Central region, cloudy conditions are expected with spells of sunshine in the morning. Later in the day, isolated thunderstorms are predicted over various states including Ondo, Enugu, Imo, Edo, Akwa Ibom, Delta, Rivers, Lagos, Bayelsa, and Cross River.

 

The outlook suggests a dynamic weather pattern across Nigeria, with periods of sunshine and thunderstorms affecting different regions over the specified timeframe.
