Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has issued a call for security consciousness and responsible celebration as Muslims in the FCT mark the Eid el-Fitr.
In a statement personally signed by Wike, he congratulated the Muslim Ummah as they bid farewell to the holy month of Ramadan, emphasizing the values of compassion, generosity, and unity that define Islam.
Wike highlighted the spirit of self-discipline, compassion, and unity witnessed during Ramadan, urging people not to limit acts of charity, love, and tolerance to only the holy month but to incorporate these values into everyday life.
He encouraged continued supplications for Nigeria and its leaders for divine wisdom and guidance, especially amid current challenges.
Reflecting on the values of harmony and cohesion, Wike emphasized the diversity, tolerance, and harmony embodied by the FCT, serving as a symbol of unity for all Nigerians.
He called for a reaffirmation of commitment to building a society where every individual is valued and respected, embracing differences and working towards common goals.
Wike highlighted the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, prioritizing the well-being and prosperity of all Nigerians, and outlined key areas of focus for the FCTA, including infrastructure development, healthcare, education, security, and economic empowerment.
He urged residents to celebrate Eid el-Fitr responsibly and remain security-conscious at all times, emphasizing the importance of collective efforts in creating a vibrant and resilient FCT.
