The Imo State Police Command has apprehended Chidebere Nwuzor, a wanted individual connected to the attack resulting in the deaths of a Divisional Police Officer (DPO) and an Inspector in November 2023. Nwuzor, sought for terrorist activities, was captured after a gunfight with the Anti-Kidnapping Unit in Amauzu, Aboh Mbaise Local Government Area.
Confessing to his affiliation with the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nwuzor admitted to enforcing the group’s sit-at-home order and driving the gang responsible for the fatal attack.
The arrest marks a significant advancement in the Imo State Police’s efforts against IPOB/ESN terrorism, with Nwuzor aiding ongoing investigations to bring other suspects to justice.
