Nyesom Wike, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), shared his unwavering optimism about Nigeria’s ability to overcome its current challenges, citing visible signs of progress. Speaking during a visit from the Methodist Prelate, Most Rev. Oliver Aba, in Abuja, Wike affirmed their confidence in Nigeria’s eventual victory.
Commending the church for its prayers for Nigerians and President Bola Tinubu’s administration under the “Renewed Hope” agenda, Wike stressed the importance of divine guidance in governance. He reiterated that effective leadership requires God’s support, emphasizing the significance of continuous prayer.
“I firmly believe that, by the grace of God, Nigeria will emerge from the current challenges we face. This is why Tinubu consistently seeks the prayers of religious leaders for his administration and the nation’s progress,” Wike remarked.
Assuring the Methodist Church of the FCT Administration’s commitment to their request for property development, Wike pledged to review their proposal for office spaces and a media center.
In response, Aba highlighted the importance of the proposed site for building a liaison office and media center to enhance evangelism and community services. Despite a previous denial of a similar request in 2023, Aba affirmed the Church’s unwavering support for the success of Tinubu’s government.
“As his success is intertwined with ours and that of all Nigerians, we continue to pray for the realization of his ‘renewed hope’ agenda, aspiring for economic revitalization and the eradication of insecurity,” Aba reiterated. “I remain confident that there is hope for Nigeria and its people.”
