Nigeria Police Force has disowned a document circulating purportedly containing conclusions of an investigation into allegations against Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, stating that it did not originate from the force. The document, which alleges fraudulent misrepresentation, certificate forgery, examination malpractice, and perjury against the governor, has been deemed unauthorized and baseless by police authorities.

The disavowal of the document was announced in a statement issued by ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the Force Public Relations Officer at the Force Headquarters in Abuja. According to Adejobi, the alleged signatory of the document, a Deputy Commissioner of Police, lacks the authority to release such a report on behalf of the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) or any other relevant departments within the Nigeria Police Force.

The allegations against Governor Aiyedatiwa, particularly concerning the forgery of academic credentials, have stirred controversy and prompted swift action from the police. However, Adejobi emphasized that the authenticity of the document in question is under investigation, urging the public to exercise caution and refrain from spreading unverified information that could damage the reputation of individuals or public officials.

Furthermore, Adejobi reassured the public that any official communication or report regarding investigations conducted by the Nigeria Police Force would be disseminated through appropriate channels. This statement aims to uphold the integrity and credibility of police procedures while ensuring transparency and accountability in handling sensitive matters.
