The Rivers State Police Command has apprehended four individuals suspected of involvement in a kidnapping incident in Okocha Community, Igbo-Etche, Etche Local Government Area. The arrests came following complaints from a company regarding missing workers during field inspection, with the kidnappers demanding a ransom of N300 million.
The suspects, believed to be part of a criminal syndicate posing as cattle rearers, confessed to their involvement in the abduction and subsequent destruction of a Toyota Sequoia SUV.
Additionally, the Anti-Cultism Unit arrested a notorious cultist and kidnapper named Godfrey Odum, who confessed to his crimes and provided information on other gang members.
The Commissioner of Police, Tunji Disu, commended the efforts of the police force in combating crime and urged residents to be cautious when hiring security personnel.
