Nigeria Infrastructure Corporation to Partner with Abia Government

The managing director of the Nigeria Infrastructure Corporation, Lazarus Angbazo, expressed readiness for collaboration with the Abia government during his visit to Governor Alex Otti in Nvosi, Isiala Ngwa South LGA on Thursday. Angbazo highlighted the corporation’s role as a government-backed infrastructure vehicle aimed at supporting infrastructure development across various sectors including power, energy transmission, agriculture, and industrialization. He emphasized the corporation’s interest in contributing to the government’s initiative to transform Aba into a leading industrial center.

Commending Governor Otti’s leadership, Angbazo lauded the credibility brought to governance under his administration. In response, the Abia government expressed willingness to cooperate with the corporation, particularly in critical economic sectors such as agriculture and power. Governor Otti affirmed the government’s commitment to engage further with the corporation to enhance power supply throughout the state, mentioning ongoing efforts with Geometric Power Limited to utilize excess power from the Aba Integrated Power Project for Umuahia and surrounding areas.

Governor Otti reiterated the government’s dedication to infrastructure development as a means to attract investors and create a conducive environment for businesses to thrive in Abia. He also assured ongoing efforts to address the power challenges in the remaining eight Local Government Areas not covered by the AIPP.
