Controversial figure Idris Okuneye, widely known as Bobrisky, admitted to the charge of abusing the Naira in court on Friday, in response to allegations brought by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

However, the EFCC, represented by its counsel Suleiman Suleiman, decided to withdraw the two-count charge of laundering N180.7 million through Bobrisky’s company, Bob Express, which was previously filed against him. No specific reason was provided for this decision.

Subsequent to Bobrisky’s guilty plea, Justice Awogboro convicted him on a four-count charge related to tampering with the sum of N490,000 by spraying it.

During the court proceedings, Bobrisky was observed wearing a black gown and covering his head with a black veil. He was also surrounded by ten armed EFCC operatives, who prevented journalists from taking photographs.
