Nigerian music sensation Davido has debunked rumors of his arrest by Kenyan authorities for alleged possession of narcotics. The false reports emerged on April 1, causing a stir among fans and media outlets.
Addressing the misinformation, Davido took to his social media platforms to reassure his fans and set the record straight. He clarified that the rumors were entirely untrue and emphasized that he has never faced arrest in any country, including Nigeria, his home country, and the United States, where he has a significant presence.
The initial reports originated from a Kenyan media house, which later clarified that it was an April Fools’ Day prank. Despite the clarification, the false information had already spread widely, prompting Davido to issue a formal statement.
Expressing his frustration with the irresponsible dissemination of fake news, Davido announced his intention to take legal action against the media outlets responsible for generating the misinformation.
