Deputy Commissioner of Police Gbolahan Olugbemi has been discovered dead in his apartment in Ogbomoso, Oyo State.
Olugbemi, who had traveled from Lagos to Ogbomoso for the Easter celebration, was found deceased in his living room on Monday, with his body hanging from the roof.
Before his demise, he held the position of Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) at Panti, Lagos.
Mayegun Oluwakemi, the spokesperson of the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) annex in Lagos, confirmed Olugbemi’s passing.
Oluwakemi stated that she lacks information regarding the cause of Olugbemi’s death, and police authorities are yet to issue an official statement on the incident.
The deceased officer had served in various roles within the police force, including as the Area Commander of the ‘Area J’ command in the Lekki-Ajah axis of Lagos State.
