South African High Commissioner in Nigeria Thami Mseleku has expressed confidence in Banyana Banyana’s ability to defeat Nigeria’s Super Falcons in their upcoming Paris 2024 Olympic qualifier in Abuja. Banyana Banyana arrived in Abuja on Sunday, April 31, and conducted their first official training session on Monday afternoon. The team received a warm welcome from the South African Embassy in Abuja.

Representing the High Commissioner, Lindi Mnimela assured the players of the embassy’s full support. She conveyed the High Commissioner’s enthusiasm and anticipation for the upcoming match, stating, “On behalf of High Commissioner Thami Mseleku, we are here to welcome you. He is the one who sent us here to give you a warm welcome.”

Mnimela expressed the embassy’s eagerness to witness the game, assuring the team of their unwavering support. She acknowledged the players’ fatigue from their journey but conveyed their confidence in Banyana Banyana’s abilities. Mnimela conveyed their optimism for victory, stating, “We have been waiting for the team for hours, patiently so because we were looking forward to having this privilege and honour of seeing each and every one of you.”
