Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Gbolahan Oyedemi, serving at the Lagos State Police Command, has tragically been found dead at his residence in Ogbomosho, Oyo State, during the Easter holidays. The 50-year-old officer’s body was discovered on Tuesday, April 2nd, after he had returned home to celebrate Easter.
Sources familiar with the incident revealed that DCP Oyedemi’s body was found hanging in his house on Monday, indicating a possible suicide. It was reported that he had sent his aides away to spend Easter with their families before the tragic event occurred.
According to a former aide to late Governor Akala, who served alongside DCP Oyedemi, the officer had recently moved into a new house he built for himself in Petros Academy Street, Federal Lowcost area, Ogbomosho. He was unmarried at the time of his demise.
Authorities are planning to question individuals who were present when the body was discovered to determine the circumstances leading up to DCP Oyedemi’s death and to ascertain his activities prior to the incident. This includes investigating who was with him before he entered his room and who possessed his mobile phones at the time of his demise.
