Kano Police Apprehend Suspect in Fatal Stabbing Incident

The Kano State Police Command swiftly responded to a tragic incident involving the alleged stabbing death of 22-year-old Zaharadeen Iliyasi by a 25-year-old suspect, Abba Ibrahim. The confrontation occurred at Chiranci Dorayi Quarters in Kano following a disagreement between the two individuals.

Upon receiving a distress call, the Commissioner of Police ordered the sealing off of entry and exit points to prevent the suspect’s escape. Despite being rushed to Murtala Mohammed Specialist Hospital, Iliyasi tragically succumbed to his injuries.

The suspect, Ibrahim, attempted to flee to Niger Republic but was apprehended. He has confessed to the crime, citing intoxicating drugs as a contributing factor.

As the investigation progresses, the Kano State Police Commissioner assures the public of diligent efforts to pursue justice. The suspect’s admission of guilt under the influence of drugs underscores the complexity of the situation.

Residents are urged to cooperate with law enforcement and provide necessary support for a thorough investigation. The suspect has been transferred to the command’s Criminal Investigation Department, Homicide Section, for further interrogation as authorities work to unravel the events leading to the loss of life.
