Adamawa Police Command operatives have apprehended Roland Raymond, a 32-year-old resident of Detti village in Ganye Local Government Area. He stands accused of attempting to extort money from an individual under threat of kidnapping.
Raymond faces charges of criminal intimidation linked to kidnapping, as he allegedly coerced his target into paying him to avoid abduction.
The arrest followed a report filed by Abraham Paul, who reported that the suspect had demanded ₦600,000 from him to prevent a kidnapping.
According to a statement from the Adamawa Police Command, the Ganye Division, in collaboration with local hunters, arrested Raymond while he was in the process of collecting the money.
