President Bola Tinubu has approved a six-month extension for the newly appointed Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Head of Service, Samuel Atang, effective from yesterday, coinciding with his 60th birthday, the mandatory retirement age.
The approval came through a circular issued by the Chief of Staff to the FCT Minister, Chidi Amadi, in Abuja.
The extension aims to stabilize and consolidate ongoing efforts to reposition the administrative structure of the FCT Administration following the recent inauguration of the FCT Civil Service Commission.
The circular states, “I am directed to inform you that His Excellency, the President, has graciously approved the extension of your service for six months from Wednesday, 27th March, 2024, when you would have reached the mandatory retirement age of sixty (60) years.”
