A Borno State court has issued an order for the release of 313 individuals suspected of terrorism, as announced by the Defence Headquarters in Abuja. Major General Buba Edward, the director of defense media operations, revealed that the decision stemmed from a Federal High Court ruling in Maiduguri due to insufficient evidence against the suspects. The suspects, who were held by the military, will be released to the Borno State Government following the conclusion of the investigation.
According to the Defence spokesperson, the cases were prosecuted by the Department of Prosecution and the Federal Ministry of Justice. The suspects will now be handed over to the Borno State Government for further action. Additionally, Operation Hadin Kai forces successfully neutralized fifty terrorists in Borno and Adamawa states, with suspected insurgents from Boko Haram and ISWAP eliminated in various locations.
During the operations, a significant cache of weapons and ammunition was seized, including firearms and explosives. Operation Hadin Kai also conducted air interdictions in areas with terrorist activities, resulting in the destruction of terrorist logistics and neutralization of several threats. The military continues its efforts to maintain security and combat terrorism in the region.
