Osun NSCDC Deploys 1,520 Personnel for Easter Operations

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Osun State Command, has announced the deployment of 1,520 personnel across the state for covert and overt operations during the Easter celebrations. This was disclosed by the Osun NSCDC Commandant, Michael Adaralewa, in a statement released by the command spokesperson, Kehinde Adeleke, on Wednesday in Osogbo.

Adaralewa emphasized that the deployed team comprises various tactical units, including the Counter Terrorism Unit, Anti-Kidnapping Squad, Special Armed Squad, Female Armed Squad, Disaster Management Unit, and Chemical, Biological, Radiological Nuclear and Explosive Unit. Additionally, he stated that the deployed teams would not only ensure the security of citizens and residents but also protect critical national assets within the state.

Furthermore, Adaralewa issued a directive to Area Commanders and Divisional Officers across all local governments and area commands in the state to deploy effective operational teams for constant patrol to prevent criminal activities before, during, and after the Easter celebration. He emphasized the importance of respecting fundamental human rights while discharging duties and urged personnel to work collaboratively with sister agencies for a smooth celebration.

Adaralewa stressed the significance of safeguarding the lives and property of citizens, urging the public to celebrate responsibly within the confines of the law. He encouraged vigilance and prompt reporting of suspicious activities to the nearest security agency. Additionally, he advised travelers to avoid overspeeding and night travels for their safety during the festivities.
