In a candid conversation with media personality Chude Jideonwo, Nollywood actor Ayoola Ayolola unveiled the pivotal moment that ignited his journey into acting, shedding light on his early struggles and eventual triumph.

Ayolola shared that acting was always a latent talent within him, nurtured through his experiences as a stage performer. He recalled the unwavering confidence he possessed in his ability to deliver on stage, which eventually emboldened him to explore acting further.

“I always knew I could act. I had this mentality that as a stage performer, I was acting as well. I always knew that no matter what happened before going on stage, I would go there and I would deliver,” Ayolola affirmed.

However, it was a period of financial hardship that served as the catalyst for his foray into acting. Despite winning the acclaimed singing competition Project Fame in 2012 and initially focusing on a career in music, Ayolola found himself struggling to make ends meet.

“I wasn’t smart enough at the time to convert the things I had at the time into financial sustainability. So I was bored, broke, and hungry,” he admitted.

Recalling a turning point, Ayolola recounted his decision to audition for a movie role at Ikeja, spurred by a realization that acting could offer him a new path. Despite initial doubts, he took the leap and attended the audition at Galaxy TV, a decision that would change his life.

“I saw a million people and I sat in the midst of them for like an hour or two then they came from the front and told everyone to leave. So I’m like ‘Maybe it’s not right for me to do this’ so I stood up and then they called me,” he shared.

To his surprise, Ayolola was offered the role on the spot after his audition, marking the beginning of his successful acting career.
