The Federal Government has arraigned the leader of the Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore, Bello Bodejo, before a Federal High Court in Abuja.
Bodejo stands accused of establishing and supporting the unlawful ethnic militia group known as Kungiya Zaman Lafiya. He was arraigned on Friday on a three-count charge filed by the office of the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF), alleging violations of the Terrorism (Prevention and Prohibition) Act, 2022.
During the arraignment, Bodejo pleaded not guilty to the charges. Subsequently, Justice Inyang Ekwo ordered that he be remanded in the custody of the Defence Intelligence Agency (DIA) pending further proceedings.
The court adjourned the case till May 27 for the commencement of trial, indicating the seriousness with which the matter will be handled.
