The Nigerian Army, in collaboration with local vigilantes, successfully eradicated a dangerous terrorist who had been impersonating a police officer in Sokoto State. According to Maj.-Gen. Onyema Nwachukwu, the Director of Army Public Relations, the terror leader, killed on March 20, 2024, frequently disguised himself to deceive and abduct unsuspecting victims.

The Army Spokesman revealed that the unnamed terrorist met his end in a well-planned operation following credible intelligence, engaging in a fierce gun battle with the troops. Additionally, the troops uncovered and dismantled a residence utilized by insurgent leaders to store drugs and provide medical care to wounded militants.

In a parallel anti-insurgency effort in Taraba State, soldiers neutralized another terrorist in Kutoko Village, Takum Local Government Area. Recovered during the operation were an AK-47 Rifle and a Magazine containing four live rounds of 7.62mm Special ammunition.
