The Senate has approved a bill sponsored by Yemi Adaramodu, Senator for Ekiti South, to establish the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Trust Fund. If signed into law, the bill aims to provide a sustainable source of funding for the NYSC, including skill acquisition, training, and empowerment programs for corps members.
Additionally, it seeks to develop NYSC formations and facilities nationwide. Adaramodu emphasized that the bill will enhance the development and welfare of corps members and NYSC personnel. He highlighted the importance of equipping graduates with skills through the Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) Programmes, fostering patriotism, and nationalism.
