Mainoo: My Mum And Dad Are Ghanaians But Three Lions Comes First

Manchester United midfielder Kobbie Mainoo has expressed his delight at being named in the squad for the upcoming international friendly matches against Brazil and Belgium in March despite having a Ghanaian parents.

The youngster, who has been enjoying a brilliant season with the Red Devils in the Premier League,  told Dailymail that it was a mix feeling for him when he he heard the news of his invitation to the Three Lions squad.

Describing his experience, Mainoo said, “The past few days have been quite surreal. Arriving here and finding out that I made it to the first-team was incredible. I was truly taken aback but also elated – it has been an overwhelming mix of feelings.”

“Representing England is an incredible chance, and I am thoroughly enjoying the journey so far. Ultimately, my aim for this season is to secure a spot in the squad [for the Euros].”

“Both of my parents come from Ghana, and football has been the cornerstone of my upbringing. Since childhood, it has been a constant presence in my life, and I have cherished every moment of it,” Mainoo added.
