A Plateau State High Court 11, on Wednesday, issued a ruling on a lawsuit concerning the ownership of a piece of land situated along Bauchi-Ring Road, owned by the Filin Sukuwa community in Jos. The suit was filed against three residents of Jos – Musa Abubakar Pam, Yakubu Ajebu, and Mr. Bello.

The Filin Sukuwa Community Development Association in Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State had taken legal action against the residents over an alleged attempt to seize the land, which was intended for a hospital and school.

The defendants, Musa Abubakar Pam, Yakubu Ajebu, and Mr. Bello, had previously filed an application for an interlocutory injunction on the disputed property. However, the claimant’s counsel, A. Oloche, countered the application.

In his ruling, Justice Nankwat Dawat Shashe’et presiding over the case, ruled in favor of the Filin Sukuwa community, dismissing the defendants’ application for an interlocutory injunction on the disputed property. The court determined that the defendants’ argument did not align with the land they were seeking the injunction for, as they failed to disclose its identity.

The court emphasized that the disputed land was not the same as the one the defendants had sought the injunction for, leading to the dismissal of their application due to the lack of disclosure regarding the identity of the land.
