During a coroner’s inquest into the death of singer Mohbad, Dr. Richard Somiari, Director of Lagos State DNA and Forensic Centre, revealed that the autopsy results would be available in the next three to four weeks.
Mohbad, who passed away on September 12, 2023, at the age of 27, sparked controversy nationwide, prompting the Lagos State Government to initiate a coroner’s inquest.
Testifying at the inquest held at the Ikorodu Magistrates’ Court, Somiari informed the Coroner, Magistrate Adedayo Shotobi, that the autopsy aimed to authenticate the cause of death and explore various possibilities, including poisoning.
Assuring the public of security and monitoring of the autopsy samples, Somiari emphasized the rigorous procedures in place for sample transportation and storage to ensure accuracy and reliability of the results.
