Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has established an eight-member panel tasked with implementing the report and White Paper of a committee set up to scrutinize contracts awarded during the tenure of his predecessor, Gboyega Oyetola.

In a statement released by the governor’s spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, on Thursday, the move underscores Adeleke’s commitment to transparency and accountability.

The panel is mandated to enforce the recommendations outlined in the review committee’s report and the subsequent White Paper endorsed by the State Executive Council.

Comprising individuals such as Kolapo Alimi, Commissioner for Information, and Wole Jimi Bada, Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, the committee’s responsibilities include ensuring the prosecution of offenders through relevant agencies and implementing institutional suggestions to prevent contract irregularities.

Adeleke emphasized his dedication to transparency, emphasizing the importance of safeguarding state assets and resources for the welfare of current and future generations. He urged the committee to utilize all legal avenues to execute the recommendations outlined in the contract review committee’s report.

This initiative follows Adeleke’s establishment of the contract review committee in 2022, shortly after assuming office, underscoring his ongoing efforts to promote accountability and good governance in Osun State.
