Desmond Igbo, a plumber, appeared before a Customary Court in Jikwoyi, Abuja, on Tuesday, accusing his wife, Rosemary, of bearing children from another man. In a divorce petition filed against his wife, Igbo revealed shocking details of his discovery, sparking a paternity dispute.
The petitioner, a resident within the court’s jurisdiction, alleged that Rosemary confessed to him about the paternity of their children. According to Igbo, his wife admitted that only their second child was biologically his, leaving him shattered after 13 years of nurturing and caring for all three children.
Citing a lack of love and understanding in their marriage, Igbo sought divorce on grounds of infidelity and betrayal. In response, Rosemary, a businesswoman, denied the accusations leveled against her.
Presiding judge Thelma Baba urged the couple to consider reconciliation and adjourned the proceedings until March 25, 2024, for a report on settlement or further hearing.
