The Kaduna State University (KASU) has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Tita Universal Service Limited, an Information and Communication Technology (ICT) firm, to implement an e-timetable platform.
This platform is designed to provide an interactive interface for students to access real-time information and updates on school activities, thereby facilitating better time management and communication between students and lecturers.
Professor Abdullahi Musa, the Vice-Chancellor of KASU, highlighted the institution’s recent strategic plan aimed at streamlining processes and embracing technological advancements. He emphasized KASU’s commitment to leveraging the latest technologies for the benefit of students and faculty members.
Tita Company Secretary, Ms. Aisha Muhammad, explained that their application offers various features such as lecture notifications, assignment submission, session calendar access, CGPA calculation, and course management. She clarified that while the application is free for students and the institution, a portion of tax revenue generated by the platform will be allocated to KASU.
Muhammad noted that the collaboration with KASU aligns with the institution’s digitalization efforts and reiterated the platform’s successful implementation in other universities like Imo State University, University of Maiduguri, and Federal University of Health Sciences Azare.
Students Mary Bala and Musa Umar expressed optimism about the benefits of the e-timetable platform, citing potential time and cost savings. They urged lecturers to fully utilize the application to alleviate financial burdens and streamline academic processes for students.
The partnership between KASU and Tita Universal Service Limited marks a significant step towards enhancing student experiences and embracing digitalization in higher education.
