The Lagos State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has reaffirmed Dr. Abdul-Azeez Adediran (Jandor) as the leader of the party, according to the Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Hakeem Amode.

Amode made this statement in response to the recent declaration by Adediran asserting his leadership role within the party.

Adediran, who was the PDP governorship candidate in the 2023 election, declared himself as the party’s leader during a meeting with former members of his campaign committee and other party members.

This declaration has stirred controversy within the party, with some stakeholders calling for Adediran to retract his claim and apologize.

However, Amode defended Adediran’s assertion, pointing out that many supposed PDP leaders had allegedly defected to other parties around the 2023 general elections.

He clarified that the party never summoned Adediran to apologize for his statement, emphasizing that as the gubernatorial candidate, Jandor holds a leadership position within the party.

Amode further questioned why Adediran should be asked to apologize when those who worked against the party have not faced similar demands and are even being celebrated.

He stressed that Jandor should be celebrated for his commitment to the party despite the challenges faced before, during, and after the elections, instead of facing condemnation.
