The Ekiti State Government has announced plans to introduce software facilities for project monitoring and performance tracking. The Commissioner for Information, Taiwo Olatunbosun, revealed that the Strategic Project Monitoring System (SPMS), also known as DASHBOARD, is expected to enhance collaboration between project team members and executives by providing a centralized platform for project information.
Olatunbosun explained that the DASHBOARD includes internal use software that digitizes project files and pictures, making them easily and securely accessible online. This system will assist in achieving the goals and objectives of the Ekiti Performance, Assessment, Improvement Report (EKPAIR) by enabling the tracking of activities of Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs).
“Experiences and feedback obtained revealed that tracking activities using an automated software-based system is essential to fast-track the monitoring of MDAs’ activities/programs, leading to more efficient and effective in-service delivery to the state,” Olatunbosun stated.
The Director-General/Special Adviser, Office of Transformation and Service Delivery (OTSD), Dr. John Ekundayo, highlighted additional benefits of the software, including proper execution and timely delivery of developmental projects to residents. He emphasized that project files and pictures will be digitized for secure and easy online access, enabling prompt access to project information for executive decision-making.
Furthermore, Dr. Ekundayo noted that the software will help to prevent financial leakages, thereby saving money for the state that can be utilized for other developmental ventures. With the State Executive Council’s approval for the contract award to MESSRS IRESKILLS CONCEPT at a contract sum of N58,474,625.00, Ekiti State emerges as the first state in the country to deploy a DASHBOARD system to aid in service delivery.
