The Federal Government has conducted training for 57 frontline health workers in nutrition, aiming to improve maternal, infant, and young child nutrition services across Nigeria. This initiative, funded by the World Bank with $232 million, is part of the Accelerating Nutrition Results in Nigeria program, a five-year collaboration between the World Bank and the government.

The goal of the project is to enhance the quality and cost-effectiveness of nutrition services for pregnant and lactating women, adolescent girls, and children under five years old. Lawal-Aiyedum Olubunmi, CEO of the Maternal Adolescent and Reproductive Child Healthcare Initiative, expressed her commitment to promoting and supporting breastfeeding at the grassroots level.

As a pediatric nurse, Olubunmi will collaborate with the participants to ensure proper nutrition information is disseminated, particularly through training sessions for nurses. This effort underscores the importance of effective communication and service delivery to improve nutrition outcomes nationwide.
