The Lagos State Police Command detained a 40-year-old lady suspected of abducting three children in the Ijegun area of Lagos after receiving a distress call.
The arrest followed a frantic call from the headmaster of a local school, alerting law enforcement authorities to the abduction of students from the school premises. Reports indicate that the perpetrators strategically stationed motorcycles near the school, facilitating their swift escape after executing their plan.
However, luck was not on the side of the suspects as law enforcement officers promptly responded to the distress call, initiating a pursuit that culminated in the arrest of one suspect and the successful rescue of the abducted children.
Confirming the incident in a phone conversation with Channels Television on Tuesday, Lagos Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, stated that the culprits were pursued vigorously, resulting in the arrest of one suspect and the safe recovery of the children.
Hundeyin further disclosed that the suspects managed to evade capture initially by fleeing the scene on an unregistered motorcycle upon the arrival of law enforcement agents.
“Fortunately, the victims, aged 4, 5, and 6 years, have been safely reunited with their families,” Hundeyin affirmed.
