Ifeanyi Okeke, the Director-General of the Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON), made this announcement in Abuja on Monday during the unveiling. These standards, integral to the Presidential Compressed Natural Gas Initiative (PCNGI), aim to enhance the safety of CNG usage, minimize environmental impact, and achieve cost savings. Okeke emphasized that the approved standards cover diverse aspects of CNG utilization, spanning production, storage, transportation, and appliance compatibility.
Michael Oluwagbemi, the Chief Executive Officer of PCNGI, highlighted that the standards were meticulously developed in alignment with global best practices. He emphasized the commitment of the Federal Government to ensuring strict compliance by operators to guarantee safety.
