Senator David Umahi, the Minister of Works, has provided assurance that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is fully committed to ensuring the timely completion of all ongoing federal road projects in Kogi State. This statement came during Umahi’s inspection tour of various federal road projects in the state on Sunday.
Umahi highlighted President Tinubu’s keen interest in expediting the completion of critical sections on the Lokoja-Ganaja road, which had been adversely affected by floods in the area. Additionally, he disclosed plans for the construction of a flyover bridge around the Obajana junction on the Lokoja-Okene-Auchi-Benin Highway.
During the inspection, Umahi focused on assessing sections of the Lokoja-Abuja Highway, particularly Felele and Akpanya, where he assured that work on seven crucial points along the road would be accelerated. He urged contractors to adhere strictly to project specifications and adhere to approved timelines for project completion.
Representing Kogi State Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, Deputy Governor Comrade Joel Oyibo Salifu accompanied the Minister on the inspection tour. Salifu conveyed the state government’s gratitude to the Federal Government for prioritizing federal road projects in Kogi State. He pledged continued cooperation and support from the state government to ensure the successful completion of all federal road projects within its jurisdiction.
