The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has made a significant interception, apprehending a 40-year-old businessman named Ejike Chibuke Solomon with 1.45 kilograms0 of cocaine. The arrest took place at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport (NAIA) in Abuja, where the suspect was attempting to board an Ethiopia Airlines flight bound for Vietnam via Addis Ababa.

NDLEA officials conducted a thorough search of Ejike’s luggage, leading to the discovery of the illicit substance concealed within his bag. The anti-narcotic agency revealed that the cocaine was carefully hidden, factory-fitted, indicating a deliberate attempt to smuggle the drugs undetected.

The suspect, who claimed to be on a business trip to Vietnam, was promptly arrested on Saturday, March 2nd, 2024, at the Abuja airport. NDLEA officers acted swiftly upon suspicion, ensuring that Ejike was apprehended before he could transport the narcotics out of the country.

This interception underscores the vigilance and effectiveness of NDLEA in combating drug trafficking and illicit activities within Nigeria’s borders. By thwarting attempts to smuggle narcotics, the agency continues to safeguard public health and security while upholding the rule of law.
