The Nigerian government has revealed plans to begin distributing 42,000 metric tonnes of grains meant for vulnerable citizens in Niger State, in North-Central Nigeria. This distribution is set to commence next week.
Governor Umar Bago of Niger State disclosed this information in Abuja after holding discussions with Senator Abubakar Kyari, the Minister of Agriculture and Food Security.
The initiative will begin in Niger State as a trial in the North Central region, in addition to an extra 120,000 trucks of assorted grains to be distributed at no cost to assist the local residents.
