Woman Arraigned for Assaulting Police Officer in Lagos

The Lagos State Command has taken legal action against Omorogbe Jennifer Soni following her caught-on-camera assault on a police officer in Ajah. Benjamin Hundeyin, the Police Public Relations Officer, shared this information on Tuesday, February 27, through his official handle.

Hundeyin revealed that Omorogbe has been arraigned and subsequently remanded to the Kirikiri Female Correctional Centre until the next hearing, scheduled for March. The incident took place on February 21, 2024, and swift legal actions were taken, leading to Omorogbe’s arraignment on February 22, 2024, at the Etiosa Magistrate Court in Ajah.

In his statement, Hundeyin emphasized the commitment of the Lagos State Police Command to ensuring law and order. He advised Lagosians to abide by the law in their daily activities, noting that anyone found guilty of violating the law would be dealt with in accordance with legal procedures. The police are taking a strong stance against such assaults and are determined to uphold justice.
