Senator Monday Okpebholo has secured the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidacy for the upcoming gubernatorial election in Edo State, slated for September 21st.
Emerging victorious in the party’s primary election, Okpebholo garnered an impressive 12,433 votes across all 18 local government areas. His closest contender, Dennis Idahosa, trailed behind with 6,541 votes. There’s widespread speculation that the former governor, Adams Oshiomole, is backing Idahosa’s candidacy within the APC ranks.
The success of Senator Okpebholo in clinching the APC ticket sets the stage for a spirited contest in the gubernatorial race. With the party’s backing, Okpebholo now faces the task of rallying support and crafting a compelling vision to resonate with voters across Edo State.
