Wigwe, Elumelu, Emefiele: Trio Involved in Nigeria’s Banking Scandal – Bode George

Chief Bode George, a prominent member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has leveled serious allegations against the late Access Bank CEO, Herbert Wigwe, just hours before news of Wigwe’s tragic death emerged.

Wigwe, who tragically lost his life in a helicopter crash alongside his wife and son while en route to watch the Super Bowl in Las Vegas, had received widespread tributes for his contributions to the Nigerian banking industry.

However, a viral video surfaced in which Chief Bode George claimed that the deceased had undisclosed skeletons in his closet. George implicated not only Wigwe but also other notable figures in the banking sector, including UBA’s CEO, Tony Elumelu, and former CBN governor, Godwin Emefiele.

According to the PDP chieftain, these banking industry leaders allegedly amassed billions through corrupt practices, involving the monthly release of dollars to them. George contends that instead of serving the public interest, these CEOs allegedly diverted the funds for personal profit by selling the dollars to the black market and making substantial profits, leaving the average Nigerian without access to the much-needed currency. The accusations have ignited a wave of discussions and speculations surrounding the real source of wealth for these banking magnates.
