The Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) has shut down Sahad Store, a popular supermarket in Abuja’s Garki area, for allegedly overcharging customers.
This action occurred following accusations of the store charging prices different from those indicated on shelves.
The enforcement, led by FCCPC Acting Executive Vice Chairman Adamu Ahmed Abdullahi, took place a day after President Bola Tinubu announced plans to address factors contributing to the food crisis.
Abdullahi confirmed the preliminary investigation’s findings of customer exploitation and stated that the store would remain closed pending further investigation.
