In an official statement released on Thursday, the Oyo State Government confirmed the closure of six health facilities due to quackery. The affected establishments, including New Jobi Memorial Hospital and Amazing Grace Medical Clinic, were sealed for offenses such as employing unqualified personnel and engaging in illicit practices.
Dr. Adekunle Aremu, Chairman of the State Antiquackery Task Force Committee, emphasized the government’s commitment to safeguarding residents’ health and well-being. He warned that those found guilty would face legal consequences and urged the public to report any suspicious activities in healthcare facilities.
Aremu also advised residents to choose accredited and registered health facilities, ensuring qualified personnel attend to them for their safety.
