Following their commendable performance at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, Nigeria’s Super Eagles have climbed 14 places to secure the 28th position in the latest FIFA rankings. This elevation also places them as the third-best team in Africa.
Despite finishing as the runners-up in the tournament, losing 2-1 to hosts Cote d’Ivoire in the final, the Super Eagles’ stellar display contributed to their significant ascent in the global football standings.
The Atlas Lions of Morocco lead the African rankings, followed by the Terangha Lions, Egypt, and Cote d’Ivoire. The next FIFA ranking update is scheduled for April 4th.
