Federal Capital Territory (FCT) police command has apprehended seven notorious kidnappers in Abuja, while also recovering N9 million in ransom money. The arrests were conducted by operatives of the Utako police division during coordinated operations in Tudun-Wada Lugbe and Pyakasa areas.
The arrested suspects hail from various states including Kwali, Borno, Gwagwalada, Katsina, Niger, Kaduna, and Plateau. They are believed to be involved in high-profile kidnapping cases within the FCT and its surrounding areas.
CP Benneth Igweh, the FCT police commissioner, confirmed that the suspects have confessed to their crimes and are providing valuable information for further arrests. The arrested individuals are currently undergoing interrogation, and appropriate charges will be brought against them in court.
