Following their victory over Nigeria, Cote d’Ivoire has declared Monday a day off to commemorate Les Elephants’ third Africa Cup of Nations title.
The host nation celebrated the 2-1 win, with goals from Franck Kessie and Sebastien Haller overturning William Troost-Ekong’s early lead for the Super Eagles.
The festivities will include a trophy parade at the Felix Houphouet Boigny Stadium in Abidjan, attended by President Alssanne Quattara and other government officials, who are expected to announce cash rewards for the triumphant players and officials.
