The House of Representatives has decided to investigate the recent ban imposed by the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) on alcoholic beverages in sachets and small bottles.

This decision came after Paschal Agbodike moved a motion during Wednesday’s plenary session.

NAFDAC had announced the cessation of registration for beverages in small sachets and bottles in January 2024.

In his motion, Agbodike highlighted that the ban contradicts the Constitution’s principles and is inconsistent with the Economic Recovery Plan of the current administration.
